🍚 Review of Skinfood’s Rice Mask Wash Off 🍚

Let’s be real. Is there anything better than getting up early, before anyone else is awake, enjoying some skin care by putting on your favorite face mask, and savoring a piping hot mug of delicious Earl Grey? Well, to me, there’s nothing better. If I want to spend some time pampering my skin, I’d better do it before the rest of the world is awake because after 6:00 a.m., my world is non-stop. When is your favorite time to pamper yourself? Are you a morning pamperer like me or is night more up your alley?

Today I am discussing another Skinfood mask. When I first started my Korean beauty journey a few years ago, Skinfood was one of my go-to brands. It is economical, available locally & addresses a variety of skin concerns. I have repurchased many of the masks I started out with, but Skinfood’s Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off still remains my favorite Skinfood mask. I’d say this is my third favorite Skinfood mask with the Black Sugar Strawberry Mask coming in second. Let’s dig in.

🍚Product Information ℹ️

This wash-off mask pack is classified under Skinfood’s brightening line which contains rich-in-nutrients, rice water to fight the signs of aging. The mask’s nubby texture helps remove dead skin cells, softening the skin & leaving it supple & purified. A best seller, Skinfood’s Rice Mask Wash off is a creamy & luxurious face mask that lifts off excess oil & dirt from the skin’s surface to keep the complexion clear & soft. Rice grains, vitamins, minerals & gamma oryzanol moisturize & whiten skin for a fairer look. Apply on cleansed skin with a gentle massaging motion, avoiding eyes & lips. Leave on for 10-15 minutes & then rinse off with lukewarm water.

🍚Ingredients🍚

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Water, Glycerin, Polysorbate 80, Jojoba Esters, Peg-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Sorbitan Stearate, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Algin, Sucrose Cocoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglutamic Acid, 1, 2-Hexanediol , Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, & Fragrance.

🍚Key Ingredient🍚

Milling rice produces rice bran oil, rice bran powder & rice water, all of which, when applied topically, can have smoothing, brightening, & hydrating effects on the skin. Rice is a rich source of Vitamin E, an antioxidant that fights aging & free radical damage, & linoleic acids. Linoleic acids are in the fatty acid family, which is essential to our bodies but is not actually synthesizable; we must consume it. It has anti-inflammatory & moisturizing properties, softening skin & making it supple. It also provides healing support to skin cell regeneration, making it a potent acne-fighter.

🍚My Thoughts 💭

I admit, I am addicted to wash off masks. I hate to think how many masks I have in my stash. This mask is good for normal, oily, sensitive & acne prone skin types. This mask comes in a semi-opaque plastic tub with a screw lid off lid. I would prefer that this came packaged in a tube for hygienic purposes, but I use a spatula to get the mask out. Note that this mask does not come with it’s own spatula I just have a billion from all my Kbeauty products. This mask has a pretty strong artificial fragrance that is hard to describe. It is definitely perfumy & not natural. I’m usually quite sensitive to fragrance, but for some reason this product does not bother me; probably because it is a wash off mask. By the time I rinse off the mask the fragrance has dissipated. The mask itself is a rich, creamy texture with bits in it that well, remind me of rice. It kind of reminds me of rice pudding. As you massage the mask into your skin, the bits provide a gentle exfoliating treatment. This mask is much more gentle than Skinfood’s black sugar wash off mask & is perfect for my sensitive skin. I generally use chemical exfoliators or gommage-style exfoliators when I want to do manual exfoliation, but this is a nice change every once in a while. I leave this mask on 10-15 minutes. After rinsing this mask off, my skin felt much smoother & softer. It eradicated dry patches & scales cause by a combination of winter ❄️ & Tretinoin/hydroquinone treatment. My skin also looked brighter & clearer. It does not make my skin feel tight or dry. I will repurchase this mask. This mask is available on Amazon for $9.99 for a 3.52 ounce jar. Mine has lasted forever, so this mask is definitely economical.
